At the Dentist

Here's a picture of Tommy in the ol' dentist's chair. He was a little weirded out at first, but he touched the hygienists gloves and thought they were cool, and the mirror was neat. He did great with her...then the dentist came and he decided he'd had enough. The tears started rolling and the lip started sticking out further and further. So, the dentist just took the hygienists word for it that everything looked good because they didn't want to traumatize the poor guy. I didn't get a picture of Jake because he was with his Daddy in another room, shucks! But Jake wasn't so lucky and had 2 cavities. He apparently has nicely spaced teeth except for the very back ones which are super duper tight, Yuck, so now we have to work on getting with a pediatric dentist, probably the Naval Hospital, who does that kind of thing on special needs kids. It won't be pretty, we're talking about the kid who screamed uncontrollably for months when it came time to take a bath because there was a wash cloth in the water...thank goodness that phase is over. He just doesn't do well with new situations or things he's not used too. If you know Jake, you understand. Anyway, we shall see what goes down.

Wow I cant believe Tommy sat in the chair by himself. Brian had to hold him down for the dentist. He screamed so hard and loud everyone in the waiting everyone heard him.

Jake is the kind of kid that you hope never has to deal with cavities, for no other reason than you love him so much and you don't want the ones you love to have to deal with that stuff.
Congrats to Tommy though, he actually looks very comfortable in that chair :) Wish I could be that comfortable when I go to the dentist.
